An Artwork Inspired by Vincent van Gogh

 

So far, I’ve learned quite a lot of new techniques in this course! Regarding our last assignment where we researched an artist that inspired us, I learned how to utilize the impasto technique, an approach in which Vincent van Gogh incorporated a lot in his works. To be able to depict this technique, I first began with an under painting consisting of pure acrylic. I then went over the acrylic paint with oil pastels to create a layered and textured surface. Using multiple mediums, truly made this painting come to life, representing a similar style in which Vincent van Gogh approached his work with.
